Today I’m shooting for two posts, my first one this morning is about my newest project, and my post later today will be about the next project I tackled (after the ottoman I posted about yesterday).
Lately I’ve become acutely aware of how much extra or scrape wood I have from all of my past projects, so I’ve started trying to come up with ways to make use of the smaller pieces of wood. For example….
I have these beautiful 11.25 inch pieces from a previous project, and I thought to myself “Nick, lets make a clock”. Obviously my decision to make a clock took more than about 5 seconds, but after a few days of research, I came up with a design that I think will look pretty cool when it’s all said and done.
I started by cutting those pieces into one in strips, then cutting each strip in half. There’s still a lot of rough edges, but i laid it out in a basic square, and next I’ll start taking the rough edges off and squaring everything up. I think this will be one of those projects that I can do in a weekend, and the end product will look pretty beautiful. More to come folks!
